Wenn JazzRadio’s neue Morgenmoderatorin Joanna Ratajczak on air geht, dann hat sie ein tolles Team hinter sich. Sie hat täglich Unterstützung von Musikleiter Matthias Kirsch und Produzentin Agnieszka Debska (im Bild rechts mit Joanna), einer Autorin und Redaktionsassistentin des Spiegel.
Joanna: “Matthias hilft dabei, die Musik auszusuchen. Sein Wissen über Jazz und sein Musikgeschmack sind beispiellos – er kennt eine Menge der Künstler, die wir spielen persönlich und kann interessante Hintergrundgeschichten zu ihnen liefern. Manchmal ist es für mich schwierig, spezielle Namen korrekt auszusprechen – Matthias ist dabei immer sehr hilfsbereit und hat viel Geduld mit mir.“
Agnieszka, die 2001 von Polen nach Berlin zog, teilt Joanna’s Liebe zur Stadt und bringt eine Menge Ideen und Informationen für die Morgensendung. Sie spricht fließend Deutsch, Englisch und Polnisch und beobachtet die internationale Presse für etwaige Programminhalte.
“Es ist super, jemanden zu haben mit dem man über Ideen und Informationen diskutieren kann wenn wir die Sendung vorbereiten“, sagt Joanna. „Ich möchte unseren Hörern einen tollen Start in den Tag bereiten mit interessanten Neuigkeiten und Informationen und dem besten Jazz, den man im Radio finden kann. Ich könnte es ohne die Hilfe von Matthias und Agnieszka nicht machen“.

She has the support every day of Head of Music Matthias Kirsch and producer Agnieszka Debska (pictured, right with Joanna) an author and editorial assistant at Der Spiegel.
Says Joanna, “Matthias helps me select the music. His knowledge of jazz and tastes in music are exceptional – he knows personally a lot of the artists we play and can give interesting background on them. It is sometimes difficult for me being Polish to pronounce particular artists’ names correctly – Matthias is always really helpful and patient with me in making sure I do.”
Agnieszka, who moved to Berlin from Poland in 2001, shares Joanna’s love of the city and provides a stream of ideas and information for the early morning programme. She is fluent in German, English and Polish and scans the international media for programme items.
“It is great to have someone to discuss ideas and information with when we are preparing the programme, “ Joanna says. “I want to give our listeners a great start to the day with interesting news, information and the best jazz you can find anywhere on the radio. I could not do it without Matthias and Agnieszka”.
