SDO at Checkpoint Jazz!

JazzRadio 101.9 is teaming up with the international Savoy Dance Orchestra to provide Berlin’s newest and best Jazz-Dining experience, Checkpoint Jazz.

Checkpoint Jazz is a weekly concert on Thursday evenings, from 4 September, at the Theater-in-der-Spielbank-Berlin, Marlene-Dietrich-Platz 1, at Potsdamer Platz.

It is a state-of-the-art modern theatre with tiered banquette tables and superb acoustics.

Each week will feature a different guest singer and a JazzRadio Deejane, for the first concert Kara Jonstadt and Leslie Nachmann, respectively. Kara Jonstadt wil be singing great standards from the jazz songbook.

There’s also a dance-floor for anyone who wants to take to the floor!

The concert with 3-course meal costs just 39 Euro. Admission for the concert only costs 12 Euro.

Entrance is from 7 pm. Diners are requested to book in advance and to arrive by 7.30 pm.

JazzRadio Deejanes will be spinning some great jazz tracks for you from 7 pm, with the Savoy Dance Orchestra under leader Stefan Warmuth striking up at 8.15 pm.

Music from JazzRadio’s Deejanes will continue until midnight.

Matthias Turns the Tables!

JazzRadio Geschaeftsfuehrer, Julian Allitt, is the interview subject at the next meeting of English-speaking Network Imagine, on Tuesday next.

Englishman Mr. Allitt normally interviews our guests but this time colleague Matthias Kirsch is turning the tables and the JazzRadio chief will be in the hot seat!

Imagine is meeting from 7-10 pm on Tuesday, 2 September at the Ellington Hotel, Nuernberger Strasse 50–55, Charlottenburg.

All are invited. There’s a free welcome drink and finger food, by courtesy of the Ellington Hotel, and the opportunity to meet interesting new friends and business contacts.

West Berlin Votes for Jazz!JazzRadio has 40.000 new listeners in West Berlin, according to the latest independent survey of radio listening.

Hourly listening to the station is up by 30%.

The twice yearly MA survey reports that JazzRadio has 307.000 listeners, 81% living within the Berlin city boundaries.

Listeners from other EU countries are included in the survey for the first time.
